Session work: From colorful fills to melodic solos to gritty wails, the harmonica can enrich a song with its range of expression and styles. If you'd like to hear how, I would be glad to work together in laying down a tasteful part that fits your piece. For added convenience, you can save yourself the expense and hassle of studio time by sending me the tracks to cut on. I have a modest home studio with ProTools and pro hardware that produces excellent recordings.

Booking: If any of my bands captures your interest, we would be glad to supply our music to an event. We've played all variety of gigs, from weddings, major festivals, private parties, house concerts, to oddities in-between.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss your musical accommodations.

Without even having met him, we called on Ansel for a last minute recording gig, and within no time he turned around a beautifully recorded, top notch performance. Exactly what we were looking for. Looking forward to working with him again

Wow, Ansel, that’s amazing! I really, really love it. I think you nailed the vibe of the song perfectly, and the new solo is a lot more like — or even better than — what I was hoping for. I can’t imagine how it would be any better! Thank you!!
— Amy Kucharik, Boston singer, composer, ukulele player
Godfrey Daniels, the venerable South Bethlehem folk club, took over Mayfair’s Discovery Stage for a night of all star performers, and harmonica player Ansel Barnum enhanced them all with big harp.
